I think there's a lot of accuracy in this piece. I do my research online (compare prices, read reviews, look for coupons) but normally when I've decided to make a purchase it will be offline.

I wonder what the weighted comparison of this research is. I mean, what's the ratio of consumer goods to things like digital media? What portion of that 4% was spent on iTunes and Netflix?

I think that not taking into consideration exactly what products are being bought and paid for online throws a monkeywrench into the mix. I for one am not likely to buy something online that I can't try on, or compare in-store, or smell or taste or touch. But a song or a movie or a piece of software...that's a different story.
